Tribute to Mary Helen – Madanlal

My dear Narad,

Chali met me at the Ashram this morning when I came back from Sri Aurobindo's room at 10 a.m.  I did not know about the passing away of dear Mary, although you did inform me in one of your e-mails about her suffering from cancer.

I was always hoping all these days that she must have been recovering although in my heart there was always a fear lurking.  Dear Narad! Perhaps you don't know that I had passed a very long period of experiences of this deadly disease (almost 3 years in the course of my wife's illness) through which period Mother taught me so many things.  In short I must tell you that ultimately it was a blissful experience for both of us.

Here I mention the reference of Agenda Vol. 6, p 100 where Mother speaks about my wife's illness (Mother) You know he had made a prediction about M's wife He had told her . . . and the next day she was gone.  Mother had told me from the very beginning that in my wife's case, it is a decision of the soul, but She is trying to put her in contact with her soul.

When we meet next we will talk about the same.  I am confident that Mother must have looked after Mary in all aspects.  Chali carried with her a packet of dry fruit sent by Mary Helen.  How sweet it is of her to remember me at this critical time!

With warm regards
